Types of Hydraulic Cranes
One of the most popular cranes in the construction industry is hydraulic cranes. They are utilized to make everything from buildings and skyscrapers to freeway overpasses and roadways.

Cranes come in a wide variety of units, styles and sizes. These different models enable both the operators and owners to carry out many more functions in their business. Choosing the best type of crane is very crucial for making certain that the material can be efficiently and safely moved to the place it needs to get to in order for the construction process to begin.

Truck Cranes
Normally, truck cranes have 2 different cabs. One cab is for controlling the crane and the other is for driving the truck when the unit is in transport mode. These cranes are very useful for building sites where a crane is required in many different places for the duration of the build. This is due to the fact that the crane could be easily driven from one location to another.

In addition, the cranes could be transported to different construction locations on the road since they can drive themselves and this eliminates the need for extra transport vehicles. Being able to travel on their own greatly lessens transport costs at the end of the day.

One disadvantage of a truck crane is that it is not stable enough sitting on tires alone in order to be able to lift the major loads that a hydraulic crane could handle. Therefore, to be able to fix this problem, outriggers could be extended from the deck. The outriggers make use of hydraulic pressure to be able to slightly lift the truck off of the ground, making it balanced and stable.

Crawler-Mounted Cranes
The crawler crane is unique in that it has huge tracks on the base of the crane. These massive tracks are really similar to bulldozers and backhoes. The tracks enable the crane to move around a construction locations successfully.
